Description
This is a traditionally hand made, red and beige kaftan coat with an open front. The Kaftan is made from 100% Ikat cotton; Ikat referring to the fabric that is patterned by binding the warp and/or weft threads tie-dyed before weaving. The piece was made in Uzbekistan where Ikat fabrics are particularly noted for this design, and is a part of the company’s goal to provide work and steady wages to female artisans from various collectives.
